I graduated with my Bachelors in Exercise Science in 2009, received my Personal Trainer certification in 2010 and have being practicing since. I’ve being working with AOA since September of 2017 when we opened the Performance Institute location. Before that I worked at real performance as a trainer and P.T. Technician.
I like working with all types of people, my favorites are post rehab or injury because they are challenging and they make me think, research and learn new things. I have experience working with stroke victims and a quadriplegic triathlete. I really like helping athletes develop their skills and average Joe’s to achieve their goals.
In high school I played soccer and basketball and in colleague I was part of the soccer team and the acrobatics team (mix of cheer and gymnastics). I enjoy weight lifting, bike riding and still play soccer in an indoor league for adults over 30.

Rodney Caffey MS, LAT, ATC, CSCS, USAW-2, USAPL-CC, EMT-B
Performance Specialist / CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER
I attended Abilene Christian University where I majored in Exercise Science and played collegiate football for the Wildcats. After suffering a career ending injury, I transferred to Hardin-Simmons University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. It was during this time that I developed my passion for strength and conditioning as well as sports medicine. I went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training at the University of Texas at Arlington where I continued to grow my passion for sports medicine. With my education and experience I bring a research based medical model to sports performance which allows me to work directly with medical professionals such as physicians and physical therapists to ensure the patient or client receives the absolute best care possible. I have had great opportunities to work with the strength and conditioning staffs at ACU, HSU, SMU, D1 Sports Training and Therapy, EXOS, and Action Zone. These experiences brought the opportunities to work with athletes that range from youth, junior high, high school, club teams, collegiate, professional, and Olympic. My certifications include: Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach (USAW), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Functional Movement Techniques (FMT) Basic and Performance. In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, sports and spending time with family and friends. I am also very involved in my church, First Baptist Church of Dallas, where I volunteer with junior high youth.
